Does a west elevation show the west side of a building?

Hi,

I'm taking an introductory course on reading blueprints. It has become a topic of debate in my class as to whether a building elevation labeled according to a given compass direction shows the view of the building that faces the specified direction, or the direction that the viewer is facing. Unfortunately we've found examples of both conventions. Clearly by examining the plot plan and comparing it to the elevations one can figure it out, but is there a definitive "correct" or majority-preferred convention? If one were to examine elevations of a site prior to construction, it would seem obvious that, e.g., a west elevation would be the view looking west, but the intuitive expectation when viewing a structure is that a west elevation shows the west side of the building, and is therefore looking east. This better matches up with the unambiguous convention that, e.g., a "rear" elevation shows the rear of the building.

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

BUILDING PLN CONVERTED FROM HOTLINK INTO A SITE PLN? HOW?

Hi,

What would be the best practice for converting a "BUILDING.PLN" file which currently resides as a "hotlink" into a "SITE.PLN" file to just walls, door, objects, roofs, slabs....etc..?
Meaning, I have two separate files right now. Ones the "building.pln" the other is the "site.pln". The "building.PLN" file is currently hotlinked into the "site.pln" file. Now that the design is settled, how do I simple "bring in" the building information (ALL OF IT) into the site.pln file without doing to much hoop jumping? Meaning, I'm looking to avoid having to go turn on all the layers and unlock all the layers from the "building.pln" file and having to copy/paste from one file to the other, story by story...object by object....there has to be a "click of the buttom" way to just convert the current "building.PLN" file which is inserted (hotlinked) into the site.pln easily.
whats the best practice for doing this?

Please help.

Multiple design problems with Model X

Hi,

My X was a nine month nightmare. 1) The excessively deep windshield made it a greenhouse/hothouse that caused the AC to blast unsuccessfully, creating cold drafts and still overheated seating areas. 2). The middle row seat requires locking in the rear-most position, so my toddler grandchildren were very uncomfortable in the third row; no adults there at all. 3) The main screen froze every couple of weeks such that I had to leave vehicle at dealer as they replaced it entirely. 4) I bought the extended range option to get 230 miles between charges—-I was told by salesman—then on delivery in Dedham MA I was emphatically told not to charge beyond 80% or I would damage batteries. 5) Final straw of betrayal by Tesla: when I tried to get Tesla to repurchase it after 9 months so I could buy a conventional vehicle with sufficient range, the dealer and company rep said they no longer honored their promise because .the corporation was short of capital”. I sold my $120,000 nearly new vehicle to a BMW dealer for only $80,000 and was lucky to get that. My other offers were $65,000 with dealers saying if Tesla won’t buy it with so many faults, why should I risk it?

Please help.
